Okay, before I even read the below mentioned article, I have definite opinions about this topic. The main reason I am getting my tech endorsement is a fear that I am being left behind and denying my students good teaching! Technology is changing so rapidly--my students are growing up in this world, so this is the only thing they know.
After reading the article, I feel validated in my reasons for taking these courses. To stay in the game, I need to embrace technology, use it, teach it, and get kids engaged in it. Change is hard for me, but I am changing. I just want to get my students more actively engaged in the learning process and technology is the key. Finding the balance between traditional learning and modern learning continues to be a bit of a struggle for me.
